Hello everyone,
We have much to share today!
First of all we have full samples of the book covers and slipcases, and they are glorious large-format works of art. We think you're going to love them.
Second, we have now reviewed a full set of printed proofs of the book and the map. They all look great and the printer has been given the OK to move to the final printing and bindery.
Third, for the signed Collector's Editions, artist Marco Furlotti has finished signing a stack of 'tip-in' pages which are heading back to the printers to be bound into the books.
Finally, what all of this means is that:
1) We will be closing the BackerKit pledge manager shortly, so please take this opportunity to update any changes to your address or your add-on orders. As a reminder, you can do that here using the email address you used to back this project. If you have not already completed the survey, please do so as it is the only way we have of knowing where to ship your rewards.
2) We will soon be rolling out the original art rewards to the Kadath and Leng Tier backers. A few backers at these tiers never responded with their art selections. If you are one of these backers, please reach out to [email protected] to choose your reward from among the remaining unclaimed illustrations.
Thank you as always for your patience. Once the printers complete the final printing and bindery phase, we should have a good estimate of when final rewards are expected to ship to you.

Print proofs!

Hello patient backers,
As ever, things move more slowly than we would like. However, we have some literally tangible progress this week in the form of the printed proofs for the book.
We approved the digital proofs a little while back and received this package of gorgeous pages - taped together, on test paper not the final art paper, but beautiful nonetheless! - this week. The printers are working on our sample cover and slipcase and we have given them the OK to proceed with the final printing for the book.
We hope to have a fairly confident shipping timeline by the next update, and may have images of the cover and/or slipcase samples by then too. In the meantime, if you have not checked it out yet, make sure to enjoy the digital sketchbook reward, which is still available here!

Hello everyone,
Thank you so much for your patience! We are finally satisfied that the book is the best we can make it for you, and have sent it to our printers for final production. We will review print proofs and slipcase samples and the like over the next few weeks before the final pressing of the books, and hope to be taking receipt of the books themselves sometime this summer. As soon as we have them all in hand, we will begin fulfillment.
In the meantime, for those of you who pledged at the Kadath or Leng tier, we have reached out to all of you to select your original artworks, but did not receive a response from a few of you. If you did not receive our several emails about this, or did not remember to respond, please reach out now to [email protected] and we will let you know which pieces are still available for your original art reward.

Backer Reward: Digital Sketchbook

Hello everyone!
We are thrilled to be reaching out today with one of your campaign rewards, the digital sketchbook! This is a peek at illustrator Marco Furlotti's artistic process coupled with fascinating insights into what drew him to the material and why he approached it the way he did.

As to the rest of your rewards, we have more good news! Smaller items like the ex libris bookplates and leather bookmarks are all complete. All that remains is to print the books themselves, and we are delighted to report that we expect them to be on the presses within the next couple of weeks.
It has taken longer than we expected to get to this stage, but for what I hope you will all agree is a good reason: we wanted to make sure we were creating the best possible version of this book for you. As a result, we asked Marco to create even more of his beautiful illustrations for the book, and he responded with five totally new works in addition to the dozens he had already created. We'll plan to share a peek at one or two of those in the coming weeks as we wait for the books to be ready, but for now, please enjoy the sketchbook! We'll be in touch again soon.
